Funke Akindele
Olufunke Ayotunde Akindele-Bello (born 24 August 1977), known popularly as Funke Akindele or Jenifa, is a Nigerian actress, film director, film producer and politician. She is best known for her role as Jenifa in the movie Jenifa.
Early Life
Funke Akindele was born in Ikorodu, a city in Lagos State, Nigeria. Her mother is a medical doctor, and her father is a retired school principal. She has a diploma in Mass Communication from Moshood Abiola Polytechnic and a degree in Law from the University of Lagos.
Career
In 2008, Funke Akindele played the title role in the movie Jenifa and its television adaptation Jenifa's Diary. She starred in the 2018 comedy film Moms At War alongside Omoni Oboli.
Funke Akindele was the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)'s Deputy Governorship candidate in Lagos State for the 2023 Gubernatorial election.
Personal Life
On 26 May 2012, Funke Akindele married Adeola Kehinde Oloyede. The couple divorced in July 2013.
In May 2016, Funke Akindele married Nigerian rapper JJC Skillz in London. They announced their separation on 30 June 2022
