Richard Mofe-Damijo
Richard Eyimofe Evans Mofe-Damijo (born 6 July 1961), popularly known as RMD, is a Nigerian actor, writer, producer, lawyer, and former journalist.
Early Life
Richard Mofe-Damijo was born in the Aladja community of Udu Kingdom, Delta State. He attended Midwest College, Warri and Anglican Grammar School for his secondary education.
He studied Theatre Arts at the University of Benin. In 2004, Richard Mofe-Damijo graduated from the University of Lagos with a degree in Law.
Career
Richard Mode-Damijo briefly worked as a writer at Concord Newspaper's Metro Magazine and Quality. After graduating from the university, He starred in the soap opera Ripples but gained more popularity as villain Segun Kadiri in Checkmate.
Richard Mode-Damijo first received credit as a writer/producer in the film Out of Bounds.
In 2005, at the first African Movie Academy Awards, he won the award for Best Actor in a Leading Role. In 2016, Richard Mofe-Damijo won the award for Lifetime Achievement at the 12th Africa Movie Academy Awards.
Personal Life
Richard Mofe-Damijo was married to journalist/publisher and talk show host May Ellen 'MEE' Ezekiel. After she died in 1996, he married TV personality Jumobi Adegbesan. He has five children: two with his current wife and three from his previous marriage.
