Victor Thompson

Victor Ufuoma Thompson (born 11 November 1986) is a Nigerian gospel singer and songwriter. He is best known for the song “This Year (Blessings)” released in January 2023.

Early Life

Victor Thompson was born and raised in Lagos State, Nigeria. He is a native of Okpara-Inland in Ethiope East Local Government Area of Delta State. He had his primary education at St. Anthony Nursery and Primary School and later moved to Caleb International School. He had his secondary education at Government College, Ikorodu, both in Lagos State.

Victor Thompson has a degree in Environmental Science from the Federal University of Petroleum Resources, Effurun, Delta State.

Career

In 2017, Victor Thompson appeared as a contestant in season 2 of The Voice Nigeria. He released his debut single, "Miyeruwe", in November 2018.

Victor Thompson released the single, "This Year (Blessings)", featuring Nigerian singer Ehis D'Greatest, in January 2023. The single topped the Billboard U.S. Afrobeats chart at number 35 and peaked at No. 14 in the United Kingdom. In July 2023, the song was nominated in the 16th Headies Awards for Best Inspirational Single.
