David Alaba
David Alaba (born 24 June 1992) is an Austrian professional football player who plays as a defender for La Liga club Real Madrid and captain of the Austria national team.
Early Life
David Alaba was born in Vienna to George and Gina Alaba and has one sister, Rose May Alaba, a professional recording artist. His Visayan mother emigrated from the Philippines to work as a nurse, and his Yoruba Nigerian father, a prince from Ogere, is also a rapper and DJ.
Career
David Alaba began his career with Bayern Munich, where he played from 2009 to 2021, becoming one of the most decorated players in the club's history. During his time at Bayern, he won 10 Bundesliga titles, 6 DFB-Pokal trophies, 3 DFL-Supercups, 2 UEFA Champions League titles, 2 UEFA Super Cups, and 2 FIFA Club World Cups.
In 2021, David Alaba joined Real Madrid. He has won a FIFA Club World Cup in 2022, two UEFA Champions League titles (2021–22, 2023–24), a Copa del Rey (2022–23), a Supercopa de España (2022), two La Liga titles (2021–22, 2023–24), and a UEFA Super Cup (2022).
David Alaba has also been named Austrian Footballer of the Year ten times (2011–2016, 2020–2023) and Austrian Sports Personality of the Year twice (2013, 2014).
