Hogan Jimoh
Hogan Jimoh (29 December 1955 - 30 June 2017) was a Nigerian professional boxer. He was popularly known as the Atomic Bomb.
Early Life
Hogan Jimoh was born in Ilorin, the capital of Kwara State. He is originally from Ila in Asa, a local government area in Kwara State.
Career
In 1974, Hogan Jimoh made his pro debut at 19 years old. Two years later, he won the national lightweight title. In 1978, he defeated Lennox Blackmoore for The Commonwealth (British Empire) lightweight belt in Lagos.
Hogan Jimoh lost the title in 1980 to Zimbabwe’s Langton Tinago. He retired after defeating Pesu Roger in 1982. His final record was 30-6, with 24 knockouts.
Personal Life
On 30 July 2017, Hogan Jimoh passed away shortly after collapsing at his residence in Lagos.
