Carlo Ancelotti Confirms Vinicius Junior Return Date

Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti has said that star forward Vinicius Junior will return from injury sooner than expected to face Atalanta in the Champions League on Tuesday.

Vinicius Junior suffered a biceps femoris injury in his left leg against Leganes on November 24. He was expected to miss up to a month. The winger has already missed three Real Madrid games, with his team only collecting points in one of them.

Vinicius was able to train on Friday, and Ancelotti said he would return next week, missing Saturday's La Liga match against Girona.

At a press conference, held after Real Madrid's defeat against Bilbao, Carlo Ancelotti stated "Seeing Vinicius is good news, he has recovered very well. He won't be ready for tomorrow, but he will be ready for the Champions League. Alaba has helped us a lot in training, but he needs another month. He will be back in January. The deadline for him is next year."
